Rural Reminder
The webcast features rural education royalty talking about some key rural issues:
- Doris Williams, Director of Capacity Building, The Rural School and Community Trust
- Jerry Johnson, Research Director, Center for Educational Research in Appalachia/Assistant Professor, Eastern Kentucky University, Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Studies
- Erin McHenry-Sorber, Managing Editor, Journal of Research in Rural Education
The webcast also includes two brief films featuring rural schools and districts doing neat stuff. For instance, Cannon County High School staff discuss their approach to place-based education, in which curriculum is aligned to both standards and community needs (check out their greenhouse project and their biofuel effort)!
